What Determines the Cost of IT Support?

Two businesses with the same number of employees can have very different technology requirements. These are some of the main factors we consider when building your support package.

01

Users & Devices

The number of employees, laptops, desktops and other managed devices is one of the biggest factors in your monthly support requirement.

02

Infrastructure

Servers, networks, firewalls, Wi-Fi and multiple sites all affect the amount of technology that needs monitoring, management and support.

03

Cyber Security

Endpoint protection, Microsoft 365 security, monitoring, Cyber Essentials requirements and additional controls can form part of your overall IT service.

04

Service Level

Your support hours, response requirements, on-site needs and whether you require contracted out-of-hours cover all influence the final service.

IT support pricing FAQs

Questions About Managed IT Support Costs

How much does managed IT support cost?
The cost depends on factors including the number of users and devices, your infrastructure, cyber security requirements, number of locations and the level of support you need. Wesson & Co provides a tailored estimate based on your actual environment rather than using one generic package for every business.
Is IT support priced per user or per device?
It can involve both. The right pricing structure depends on how your business operates, how many users and devices you have and what technology needs to be managed. We review the environment before recommending the most appropriate model.
Can I get a quote if I already have an internal IT team?
Yes. Co-managed IT support is designed for organisations that already have internal IT capability but need additional helpdesk capacity, monitoring, cyber security expertise, project support or specialist technical resource.
Do I need a managed IT contract for project work?
No. Wesson & Co can deliver standalone IT projects including Microsoft 365 migrations, office moves, network and Wi-Fi installations, new site setups and hardware deployments without taking over your ongoing support.
Are Microsoft 365 licences included in IT support pricing?
Licensing can be included or separated depending on the service agreed. We make clear which licences, security products and third-party costs are included in your proposal before you commit.
Do you charge extra for on-site IT support?
This depends on the support agreement. Some services may include agreed on-site support while other visits or project work may be quoted separately. The scope is confirmed as part of your proposal.
Do you provide out-of-hours IT support?
Standard support hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Contracted out-of-hours support can be provided where it is required and agreed as part of the support service.
Which areas do you cover?
Wesson & Co is based in Hinckley and provides IT support across Leicestershire, Warwickshire and the wider Midlands, including Leicester, Nuneaton, Coventry, Warwick, Leamington Spa and Birmingham. Remote support can also be provided to businesses elsewhere in the UK.
